Tallgrass Energy LP announced July 14 that its board of directors has appointed Crystal Heter as chief operating officer, effective immediately. She reports directly to Tallgrass president Matthew P. Sheehy.
Heter has been with Tallgrass since its inception in 2012 and most recently served as segment president for Natural Gas Transportation and president of the Rockies Express Pipeline (REX). An industry veteran, Heter was instrumental in driving the company’s effort to transform Rockies Express into the nation’s northernmost bi-directional natural gas header system.
“Crystal is an outstanding addition to Tallgrass Energy’s executive team,” said Tallgrass CEO William R. Moler. “She’s spent her entire career in the oil and gas industry, and her combination of commercial and operational experience makes her uniquely suited for this role. Matt and I, along with the rest of the Board, are confident she will strengthen an already highly talented team, reinforce our safety-first culture and drive even more value for our customers.”
About her new role, Heter said, “I am eager to bring my experience and leadership to this role. Tallgrass has an exceptional team of leaders across operations, engineering, projects and environment, health, safety and Security, which I look forward to working with to promote the company’s growth strategies and commitment to safety.”
Tallgrass Energy is a growth-oriented midstream energy infrastructure company operating across 11 states with transportation, storage, terminal, water, gathering and processing assets that serve some of the nation’s most prolific crude oil and natural gas basins.
