Schramm Appoints Energy Vet as COO
Drill rig manufacturer Schramm Inc. has hired a 20-year energy industry veteran to be its chief operating officer.
The West Chester, Pennsylvania-based company, which manufactures mobile, land-based hydraulic drill rigs, announced the appointment of Bobby Bryan on July 28. The company just recently created the COO position in response to the rapid increase in demand for the company’s drill rigs continues worldwide, according to a statement.
Bryan brings more than 20 years of oilfield equipment and services experience to the position, coming to Schramm from National Oilwell Varco (NOV). Having started at NOV in 1993, he has served in a variety of capacities worldwide, most recently as vice president of business development for NOV’s land rig solutions division.
Other career highlights at NOV include serving as director of operations and sales for Russia and its Commonwealth of Independent States while residing in Moscow. Bryan also served as director of international sales and operations for NOV Mission Products, where he was responsible for developing distribution channels in Latin America, Asia and the Middle East. Throughout his tenure, he held a variety of positions from mechanic and service technician to sales manager and director.
“With Bobby’s established track record in delivering best-in-class operating performance in large multi-service land locations and demonstrable success in new technology introductions and large contract acquisitions, we believe he will be a tremendous asset to our strategy for growth,” said Schramm president and CEO Ed Breiner. “As innovation continues to extend the shale boom here at home and abroad, demand for advanced modern rigs and technologies are at an all-time high. We welcome Bobby to this pivotal position and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”
Effective immediately Bryan assumes responsibility over operations, engineering, aftermarket and sales, and will report to Breiner.
“With its world-class innovations and cutting-edge technologies in Telemast drilling systems, Schramm has proven its products to be a true differentiator in shale pad drilling,” Brian said. “It’s great to be joining Schramm at such an important inflection point for this industry and the company. I’m honored to be a part of this company, with its more than 110-year history of American manufacturing excellence, and to play a role in its next phase of innovation and market leadership within the oil and gas industry.”
