PRCI Elects New Executive Board Members
The Pipeline Research Council International elected two new members to its board at a recent meeting, the group announced Oct. 17.
It has been one year since Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) approved enhancements to its governance and research models to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Over the past year, the organization has implemented changes in its structure, operations and processes that have resulted in improvements and efficiencies to enable members to more readily engage with the organization and better realize the ensuing benefits.
Part of these changes included restructuring the governing bodies to form an Executive Assembly that consists of a representative from each PRCI pipeline member company, Pipeline Industry Organization member and Full Associate member, and a streamlined Executive Board to provide strategic and operational guidance for the organization.
The PRCI Executive Assembly elected new members to sit on the Executive Board to fill the positions of outgoing members. Mark Yeomans, vice president of pipeline integrity at TransCanada, and Mark Pelkey, superintendent at National Fuel Gas Supply Corp. will sit on the Executive Board for three-year terms concluding in September 2019. They replace Thomas Scott Collier, vice president of performance assurance at Buckeye, and Per Atle Stroemme, special advisor for asset management at Gassco, who will continue serving on the Executive Assembly. Consequently, the following nine members comprise PRCI’s Executive Board:
- Phillip H. DePriest, Marathon Pipe Line LLC, PRCI Executive Board & Executive Assembly Chair
- Jeff Whitworth, Shell Pipeline Co., PRCI Executive Board & Executive Assembly Vice Chair
- Christophe Renier, ENGIE, PRCI Executive Board & Executive Assembly Past Chair
- Gary Buchler, Kinder Morgan
- John Haldiman, Plains All American Pipeline
- Walter Kresic, Enbridge Pipelines Inc.
- Mark Pelkey, National Fuel Gas Supply Corp.
- Phu Phan, Enterprise Products
- Mark Yeomans, TransCanada PipeLines Ltd.
Additionally, the organization announced the following members who have joined the Executive Assembly since its last meeting in February:
- David Mucz, Alliance Pipeline Ltd.
- Mark Gebbia, Williams Cos. Inc.
- Vinicius Matos, Petrobras
- David Buczkowski, Southern California Gas Co.
- Robert Young, Applus RTD
“The new governance and research models in conjunction with the new Executive Assembly and Executive Board will enable PRCI to continue to deliver innovative and applied research that enables the energy pipeline industry to enhance and ensure pipeline safety and integrity,” said PRCI president Cliff Johnson. “In the coming year, PRCI will further focus on technology transfer of the key results.”
PRCI is a non-profit research organization that is comprised of energy pipeline operating companies located in the United States, Canada, Europe, China, South America and Australia. Augmenting the pipeline membership are associate members drawn from companies in the United States, Canada, Europe, China, Japan, and Australia that serve the industry as pipe and equipment manufacturers, service providers, and vendors.
