North American Pipeline Project Roundup: October 2017

Project Roundup: The following oil and gas pipeline projects have been announced. Projects are in order of most recent approximate starting date. All projects are for 2017 unless noted.

Letourneau Enterprises LLC was awarded a contract by Welded Construction LP for the clearing, grubbing and matting of approximately 17 miles of 42-in. pipeline right of way for Williams Atlantic Sunrise Spread 5 in Northumberland and Columbia counties, Pennsylvania and the clearing, grubbing and matting of approximately 41 miles of 42-in. pipeline right of way for Williams Atlantic Sunrise Spread 6 in Schuylkill and Lebanon counties, Pennsylvania. Headquarters for Spread 5 is Pottsville, Pennsylvania, and for Spread 6 is Myerstown, Pennsylvania. The superintendents are Timothy Garber (Spread 5) and Tyson L. Shook (Spread 6). Approximate start date: Oct. 2 (for both spreads).

Minnesota Limited LLC was awarded a contract by Vectren to bore and replace approximately 800 ft of 16-in. pipeline and additional maintenance work in Monroe County, Indiana. Headquarters is Bloomington, Indiana. The superintendent is Greg Frazier. Approximate start date: Oct. 2.

Supreme Industries was awarded a contract by Price Gregory International Inc. for clearing, grubbing and matting on approximately 9.1 miles of 42-in. pipeline right of way in Westchester County, New York. Headquarters is undetermined. The superintendent is Clarke R. St. Pierre. Approximate start date: Oct. 2.
Supreme Industries was awarded a contract by Henkels & McCoy Inc. for clearing, grubbing and matting on approximately 21.7 miles of 30-in. pipeline right of way in Columbia and Luzern counties, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is undetermined. The superintendent is Matthew Opel. Approximate start date: Oct. 2.

LLC for the following: 1.) the installation of approximately 37 miles of 42-in. pipeline in Lancaster and Lebanon counties, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is Marietta, Pennsylvania. The superintendent is Dan Wofford; 2.) the installation of 17 miles of 42-in. pipeline in Columbia and Northumberland counties, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is Pottsville, Pennsylvania. The superintendent is Sonny Weems; and 3.) the installation of 41 miles of 42-in. pipeline in Schuylkill and Lebanon counties, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is Lebanon, Pennsylvania. The superintendent is Landon Duncan. Approximate start date: Oct. 2 (for all three projects).

Phillips & Jordan Inc. was awarded a contract by Latex Construction Co. for clearing and grubbing on approximately 30.6 miles of 42-in. pipeline right of way in Columbia County, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. The superintendent is James “Bucky” Lane. Approximate start date: Sept. 26.
Right-of-Way Clearing & Maintenance Inc. was awarded a contract by Alex Parris for clearing approximately 11,700 ft of 20-in. pipeline right of way in Marshall County, West Virginia. Headquarters is undetermined. The superintendent is Rick Brown. Approximate start date: Sept. 26.

Henkels & McCoy Inc. was awarded a contract by Williams Transcontinental to install approximately 21.7 miles of 30-in. pipeline on the Atlantic Sunrise Pipeline, Spread 2, in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is Sweet Valley, Pennsylvania. The superintendent in Jerry Bash. Approximate start date: Sept. 25.

InfraSource LLC was awarded a contract by Mears Group/Spectra Energy for recoating for Guided Wave Direct Examination investigations on various size pipelines in Norfolk County, Massachusetts. Headquarters is undetermined. The superintendent is Matt Ranson. Approximate start date: Sept. 25.

Snelson Cos. Inc. was awarded a contract by Pacific Gas & Electric for the retirement of approximately 6,200 ft of 4-in. pipeline with approximately five bell holes in Sacramento County, California. Headquarters is undetermined. The superintendent is Jack Symonds. Approximate start date:
Sept. 25.

Price Gregory International Inc. was awarded a contract by Spectra Energy (Algonquin Gas Transmission LLC) for clearing approximately 4 miles of 42-in. pipeline right of way and to install 3,200 ft of 42-in. pipeline via horizontal directional drilling in Westchester County, New York. Headquarters is undetermined. The superintendent is Buck Hines. Approximate start date: unknown (announced Sept. 25).

Maxx HDD LLC was awarded a contract by Pumpco Inc. for road boring on the 36-in. Rover Pipeline in Hancock, Jefferson and Carroll counties, Ohio. Headquarters is unknown. The superintendent is Terry Strickland. Approximate start date: Sept. 23.

Penn Line Service Inc. was awarded a contract by Precision Pipeline LLC for hydro-seeding on approximately 51.4 miles of 20-in. pipeline right of way in Cumberland, Dauphin and York counties, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is the jobsite. The superintendent is Jim Pratt. Approximate start date: Sept. 20.
Hillis Group LLC was awarded a contract by Otis Eastern Service LLC for recoating on various size pipelines in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is Lebanon, Pennsylvania. The superintendent is Brett Ehasz. Approximate start date: Sept. 18.

J. Koski Co. was awarded a contract by Enbridge for matting on the right of way in Stone Lake, Wisconsin. Headquarters is the jobsite. The superintendent is Cory Halberg. Approximate start date: Sept. 18.

The clearing and grubbing for Line 700 Thomas Valve Station in Mount Morris, Michigan; and 2.) bat tree felling on Line 2800 in Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge. Headquarters is Mount Morris. United Piping Inc. was awarded a contract by BP US Pipeline & Logistics for hydro-vacuuming work for BP control valve installation in Roseville, Minnesota. Headquarters is the jobsite. The superintendent is Jim Bailer. Approximate start date: Sept. 18.

R-Valve Foam Insulation LLC was awarded a contract by Michels Corp. to provide foam breakers and padding on approximately 32 miles of 16- and 20-in. pipeline in Huntington, Perry and Juniata counties, Pennsylvania. Pe Ben USA Inc. was awarded a contract by Williams for the offloading and stockpiling of approximately 66.1 miles of 42-in. pipe in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is Tremont, Pennsylvania. The superintendent is Tommy Haynes. Approximate start date: Sept. 13.

Gabe’s Construction Co. Inc. was awarded a contract by Foltz Welding Ltd. for the installation of approximately 2,470 ft of 24-in. pipeline via horizontal directional drilling. Headquarters is on the jobsite. The superintendent is Steve Huibregtse. Approximate start date: Sept. 12.

Snelson Cos. Inc. was awarded a contract by Pacific Gas & Electric for a 1,200-ft deactivation of 6-in. pipe in Rio Vista, California. Headquarters is undetermined. The superintendent is Lou McMullen. Approximate start date: Sept. 11.

Henkels & McCoy Inc. was awarded a contract by Algonquin Gas Transmission Spectra Energy for warranty work/punch list items in Westchester & Rockland Counties, New York. Headquarters is Montrose, New York. The superintendent is Joe Carter. Approximate start date: Sept. 11.

InfraSource LLC was awarded a contract by Mears Group Inc./Spectra Energy Transmission for the inspection and recoating for guided wave direct examination of various size pipelines in Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Headquarters is to be determined. The superintendent is Matt Ranson. Approximate start date: Sept. 11.

InterCon Construction Inc. was awarded a contract by Millennium Pipeline Co. for the removal and replacement of approximately 3,000 ft of 12-in. pipeline in Steuben County, New York, and the installation of approximately 1,200 ft of 20-in. pipeline, stopple fittings and associated bypass fittings, and the replacement of a filter separator in Chemung County, New York. Headquarters is Coopers Plains, New York. The superintendent is Aaron Zila. Approximate start date: Sept. 11.

Midwestern Contractors was awarded a contract by Buckeye for the relocation of approximately 1,000 ft of 12-in. pipeline in Kankakee County, Illinois. Headquarters is Elburn, Illinois. The superintendent is Wes Sears. Approximate start date: Sept. 11.

Snelson Cos. Inc. was awarded contracts by Pacific Gas & Electric for the following: 1.) replacement of 20 ft of 4-in. pipeline and a valve in Alameda County, California. The superintendent is Chris Sullivan; 2.) the deactivation of 1200 ft of 6-in. pipeline in Solano County, California. The superintendent is Lou McMullen; and 3.) air to soil coating repairs of seven spans of 34-in. pipeline approximately 60 to 120 ft long. The superintendent is Chis Sullivan. The headquarters for each project is unknown. Approximate start date: 1.) Sept. 9, 2.) Sept. 11 and 3.) Aug. 30.

United Piping Inc. was awarded contracts from TransCanada for the following: 1.) 42-in. pipeline anomaly digs in Berrien County, Michigan. Headquarters is Three Oaks, Michigan. The superintendent is Joe Bailer; and 2.) installing a new meter station with 0.75 to 16-in. piping in Will County, Illinois. Headquarters will be Joliet, Illinois. The superintendent is Nate Rickard. Approximate start date: 1.) Sept. 5 and 2.) Sept. 11.
United Piping Inc. was awarded contracts by BP for the following: 1.) inspection of a pipeline station in Dubuque County, Iowa. Headquarters is Dubuque, Iowa. The superintendent is Jim Bailer; and 2.) a 12-in. pipeline casing dig in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The headquarters is Cleveland, Ohio. The superintendent is Jim Bailer. Approximate start date: 1.) Sept. 11 and 2.) Aug. 30.

Welded Construction LP was awarded a contract by Consumers Energy Co. for the installation of crossover valves on a 26-in. pipeline in Saginaw County, Michigan. Headquarters is Mount Morris, Michigan. Superintendent is to be determined. Approximate start date: Sept. 11.

Q3 Contracting Inc. was awarded a contract by Alliant Energy for the installation of approximately 5.6 miles of 4-in. pipeline and 0.4 miles of 8-in. pipeline, installation of two regulator stations, a meter site, a launcher/receiver and the abandonment of existing pipeline in place in Muscatine and Louisa Counties, Iowa. The headquarters is Columbus Junction, Iowa. The superintendent is Jon Kelly. Approximate start date: Sept. 6.

Q3 Contracting Inc. was awarded a contract by Great Plains Natural Gas for the installation and hydrotesting of approximately 3.1 miles of 8-in. pipeline, a pig launcher and receiver, and the retirement of the existing 6-in. pipeline in Otter Tail County, Minnesota. Headquarters is Fergus Falls, Minnesota. The superintendent is Brett Catts. Approximate start date: Sept. 5.

Henkels & McCoy Inc. was awarded a contract by DTE Energy to install meters, heaters, odorizers and regulation equipment in Otsego County, Michigan. Headquarters is Gaylord, Michigan. The superintendent is Mark Skowronski. Approximate start date: Aug. 24.

U.S. Pipeline Inc. was awarded a contract by Enbridge Energy (Algonquin Gas) to install two hot taps and 10- and 12-in. interconnect piping in Norfolk County, Massachusetts. Headquarters is Medway, Massachusetts. The superintendent is Bobby Ludwig. Approximate start date: Aug. 18.
