CASE G Series Wheel Loaders
Launched last year, the new G Series wheel loaders from Case Construction Equipment range from 141 to 347 hp, with bucket capacities from 2.1 to 6.25 cubic yards. The G Series wheel loaders were built for work that ranges from supply yards, building construction and agriculture up to quarries and mass excavation. The machines are well-suited for dig and load operations, as well as hauling applications often found on large-scale oil and gas pipeline projects and utility jobsites.
The entire G Series wheel loader product line is Tier 4 Final compliant, featuring SCR engine technology that increases fuel efficiency, keeps exhaust temperatures down and eliminates regeneration or lifetime diesel particulate filter (DPF) costs and maintenance. An all-new operator environment, controls and interface are designed to be intuitive and easy-to-operate.
CASE G Series wheel loaders feature a broad range of bucket and linkage options to optimize each machine to its application. Linkage options include Z-bar (best breakout force and general operation), XR (extended reach) and XT (tool carrier/parallel-lift configuration for best handling stacked/palletized materials). Each loader comes standard with a four-speed PowerShift transmission. An optional five-speed transmission with lock-up torque converter is available on the 721G, 821G and 921G for over-the-road travel speeds up to 25 mph.

Caterpillar 950M Wheel Loader
The new 950M Wheel Loader has a 230-hp (net) U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final/EU Stage IV ACERT engine equipped with a combination of proven electronic, fuel, air and after-treatment components. Applying proven technologies systematically and strategically lets us meet our customer’s high expectations for productivity, fuel efficiency, reliability and service life.
Deep system integration results in reduced emissions, improved performance and improved fuel economy without interrupting machine performance making it seamless to operators. M Series Loaders are 10 percent more fuel efficient than the K Series Loaders and up to 25 percent more efficient than the H Series Loaders they replace.
The 950M weighs in at 42,357 lbs and features a bucket breakout force 40,690 lbf. Bucket capacity ranges from 3.3 to 12 cu-yds. The machine features a five-speed powershift transmission with single clutch speed shifts and torque based down shifts, as well as a lock up clutch torque converter with lock-to-lock shifting. Also available are Cat’s Product Link technology to monitor equipment and manage production using online VisionLink software. Payload technologies, like the Cat Production Measurement (option) measures payloads and optimize productivity.

457 HT Wheel Loader
The JCB 457 HT wheel loader features a powerful MTU diesel engine that meets Tier 4 emission standards without the need for a costly and inefficient diesel particulate filter (DPF), reducing maintenance costs while improving residual value. Because wheel loaders often work in very demanding environments, the 457 HT’s articulation joint has a heavy-duty box section, a heavy-duty center pin and oversized bushing, as well as twin taper roller bearings on the bottom box joints to easily tolerate both vertical and horizontal loads.
A solid-cast rear counterweight protects the 457 HT’s back end — including the rear lights and cooling pack — from damage. Hoses are routed and clamped through the articulation joint, well away from any pinch points. All JCB wheel loaders including the 457 HT benefit from finite element analysis and rig testing of up to one million cycles to ensure superior strength and durability. Cold cell testing guarantees starting performance down to minus-4 F.
The 457 HT’s CommandPlus cab provides operators with ample space and visibility. There are two, full-color LCD screens to navigate the wheel loader’s operating menus, with one doubling as a monitor for the rear-view camera. An all-new air venting system boasts nine de-misting vents and six operator vents to maintain visibility and comfort at all times. Owners can choose from a single-lever joystick or multi-lever configurations, both fully electro-hydraulic.

John Deere 844K-III, 844K-III Aggregate Handler Wheel Loader
In December, the John Deere wheel loader family welcomed the addition of the 844K Series-III and 844K Series-III Aggregate Handler configuration. The workhorse machines offer customers increased uptime and the ability to sell more material more efficiently to improve their bottom lines.
The new wheel loaders offer a 13.5-liter John Deere PowerTech Final Tier 4 diesel engine that delivers exceptional power at 380 hp for the 844K-III and 401 hp for the Aggregate Handler configuration. The models are equipped with a standard five-speed transmission with torque-converter lockup in gears 2-5. The Aggregate Handler configuration is purpose built for two-pass loading with increased power, larger tilt cylinders, higher hydraulic pressure and increased counterweighting to handle bigger material-handling buckets (9.3 cu yds/9.8 cu yds), reduce fill time in processed aggregates and ultimately conserve fuel in applications.
The new models retain everything the industry values about the K-Series, including the Quad-Cool System with reversing fan, which provides wide-open access to both sides of the coolers for easy cleanout. The John Deere exclusive integrated tire monitoring reports pressures and temperatures clearly on the monitor and remotely through JDLink Ultimate to help reduce tire wear and replacement cost.

Komatsu America Corp. WA270-8 Wheel Loader
Komatsu America Corp.’s new WA270-8 wheel loader is equipped with a 6.69-liter, 149-hp EPA Tier 4 Final-certified SAA6D107E-3 engine. This addition to the wheel loader family combines high production with low fuel consumption and improved operator comfort
The WA270-8’s parallel-lift linkage, with auto tilt-in to simulate a Z-bar, can be used in virtually any application from pallet handling to hard digging. Fuel consumption is lower by up to three percent in V-cycle loading and two percent in load-and-carry applications.
The WA270-8 and every other Komatsu Tier 4 Final construction-sized machine, whether rented, leased or purchased, is covered by the Komatsu CARE program for the first three years or 2,000 hours, whichever comes first. Komatsu CARE includes limited scheduled factory maintenance, a 50-point inspection at each service and two complimentary Komatsu diesel particulate filter (DPF) exchange in the first five years.
