Liebherr RL64 PipelayerLiebherr RL64 Pipelayer

Liebherr and Maats developed a program of the most reliable and safe pipelayers in the market.
With performance, reliability, safety, economy and comfort being key topics in the design, Liebherr pipelayers meet demands of contractors around the world.

With a 90-ton lift capacity, the Liebherr RL64 is currently the largest pipelayer in the Liebherr lineup. The robust RL64 is designed to provide maximum performance in the harshest working conditions.

Outmost machine stability is secured by the extra long undercarriage, wide track shoes and extremely low center of gravity. The machine’s distinctive layout also provides several other advantages, such as a low ground pressure and maximum lifting capacity over the entire working range.

Intelligent hydraulics provide the comfort of safe and precise operation of the attachments. Heavy loads are stabilized in all positions by the powerful working cylinders, and the unique boom-positioning cylinder and precision controls ensure a millimeter-accurate control of the boom and load.

Reliability of the machine is maximized by the use of high quality materials and durable components. Combined with the time tested technology used in the design, service costs and downtime are effectively reduced.

The numerous safety features and ergonomic design guarantee a safe and comfortable working environment for the operator.

Cat 72H PipelayerCat 72H Pipelayer

PipeLine Machinery International (PLM) is a global Cat equipment dealer for the mainline pipeline construction industry that provides creative solutions to industry challenges by partnering with the leading developers in purpose-built pipeline technology.
The 72H pipelayer answers the challenge for a mid-range pipelayer that meets the unique demands of the pipeline industry and emission standards. This Tier 4 Interim/EU Stage IIIB class machine is a purpose-built 90,000-lb lift capacity pipelayer with a Cat C9.3 ACERT engine.

The 72H is equipped with a Caterpillar certified to ISO standards roll over protection structure (ROPS) that is specific to this model and application, making safety a priority. Additional safety features include: independent hydraulic winches, oil disk brakes, variable speed controls, quick drop function and hydraulic boom stop valve.

The 72H Pipelayer is chosen when the pipe size is anywhere from 16 to 24 in. in circumference with mid-range weight. Where the smaller inch pipe work is being done but the wall thickness adds additional weight, the 72H provides a safe and efficient solution. In addition to answering the challenge of safety and reducing the carbon footprint, the 72H has proven to be versatile and easy to handle, even in rugged terrain.

Volvo PL4809D Rotating PipelayerVolvo PL4809D Rotating Pipelayer

The latest addition to the revolutionary excavator-based pipelayers from Volvo, the PL4809D, has been enhanced with a whole host of new productivity-enhancing features, including a unique load management system.

The PL4809D rotating pipelayer is the second largest member of the revolutionary family of excavator-based pipelayers from Volvo. Offering excellent stability with a 90-ton lifting capacity, the PL4809D is highly productive while also being one of the safest and most stable machines in the industry. Volvo pipelayers also offer unsurpassed fuel efficiency, making them the most fuel efficient pipelayers currently available.

Featuring Volvo patented 360-degree swing capability, the PL4809D can handle large, heavy pipes with ease and place them anywhere around the machine — a task unthinkable with traditional side boom pipelayers.

The PL4809D’s innovative excavator-based design also allows the machine to be converted into a high-performance excavator, simply by swapping the pipelayer boom for the excavator boom included in the optional digging kit. Hydraulics are optimized for both pipelayer and excavator applications as standard. Service and maintenance have never been easier with more than 80 percent of parts in common with other Volvo excavators.

Superior SPX-Series PipelayersSuperior SPX-Series Pipelayers

Superior Mfg., a subsidiary of Worldwide Machinery, is pleased to announce its SPX-Series of pipelayers.

The line includes three sizes, similar in capacity to Caterpillar’s 572, 583 and 594. These are the SPX-460, SPX-660 and SPX-960, with an upcoming addition equivalent to a D6-sized tractor: the SPX-260.

These new pipelayers are easy and safe to operate, and the simplicity of the design will ensure a long life. Some of the main features are:
• A state-of-the-art hydrostatic system, which ensures safety and reliability and is especially efficient when working on steep grades.
• A new design which makes the counterweight system easy to assemble and disassemble.
• Hydraulic winches proven after more than 15 years’ use in Superior’s conversion kits, which have converted many mechanical Cat, Fiat and Komatsu pipelayers to hydraulic.
• New ATP-Plus anti-tipping system with in-cab display by which the operator can read from his gauges the degree of boom overhang and the actual weight being lifted.
• A state-of-the-art control cabin.
There are two extra pilot levers for the transmission, which can assist the operator in making precise maneuvers, such as turning in a steep hill or making pinpoint movements to couple the pipes.
