North American Pipeline Project Roundup: September 2017
Project Roundup: The following oil and gas pipeline projects have been announced. Projects are in order of most recent approximate starting date. All projects are for 2017 unless noted.
Latex Construction Co. was awarded a contract from Williams/Transco to install approximately 29.4 miles of 42-in. pipeline in Columbia County, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. The superintendent is Don Cupit. Approximate start date: Oct. 1.
T.G. Mercer Consulting Services Inc. was awarded a contract by KML to offload and rack 58 miles of 12-in. pipe in Weld County, Colorado. Headquarters is Willow Park, Colorado. The superintendent is Eldridge Bannon. Approximate start date: Sept. 11
InfraSource LLC was awarded a contract by Columbia Gas Pennsylvania for the relocation of 100 ft each of 2- and 4-in. pipelines and to install a regulator skid and heater in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. The superintendent is Matt Ranson. Approximate start date: Sept. 5.
MAXX HDD LLC was awarded a contract by Pumpco for various 36-in. pipeline road bores in Washington County, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. The superintendent is T.J. Strickland. Approximate start date: Sept. 1.
InfraSource LLC was awarded a contract by Puget Sound Energy for the rerouting of approximately 110 ft of 12-in. pipeline in Snohomish County, Washington. Headquarters is Everett, Washington. The superintendent is Gunner Anderson. Approximate start date: Aug. 28.
Snelson Cos. Inc. was awarded contracts by Pacific Gas & Electric for the following: 1.) removal of a 3-in. pipeline valve, the abandonment of 16 ft of 3-in. pipeline, test and spool in 3 ft of 8-in. pipeline and the capping of the existing line in Stanislaus County, California. The superintendent is Trevor Payne; 2.) coating repairs on seven 60 to 120-ft spans of 34-in. pipeline in Fresno County, California. The superintendent is Billy Davis; and 3.) the replacement of 450 ft of 8-in. pipeline and one 8-in. valve in Stanislaus County, California. Headquarters for all projects are to be determined. The superintendent is Trevor Payne. Approximate start date: Aug. 28 (for all three).
U.S. Pipeline Inc. was awarded a contract by Enbridge Energy to install 2,500 ft of 24-in. pipeline via horizontal directional drilling, fabrication and a hot tap in Union County, New Jersey. Headquarters is in Linden, New Jersey. The superintendent is Dana Bratcher. Approximate start date: Aug. 28.
United Piping Inc. was awarded a contract TransCanada for the demolition and replacement of pulsation bottles in Jay County, Indiana, and the demolition and construction of two 36-in. pipe supports in Defiance County, Ohio. Headquarters is Portland, Indiana. The superintendent is Rich Oswskey. Approximate start date: Aug. 25.
InfraSource Construction LLC was awarded a contract by Mears Group Inc./Spectra Energy Transmission for integrity work including Guided Wave Direct Examination of various size pipelines in New London County, Connecticut. Headquarters is to be determined. The superintendent in Matt Ransom. Approximate start date: Aug. 24.
The Hillis Group LLC was awarded a contract by Williams Transco for the take up and re-lay of 500 ft of 24-in. pipeline in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is Easton, Pennsylvania. The superintendent is David Arbaugh. Approximate start date: Aug. 23.
Pe Ben USA Inc. was awarded a contract by Precision Pipeline LLC for the load out of 14,000 ft of 24-in. pipe in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is Duquesne, Pennsylvania. The superintendent is Chane Keeling. Approximate start date: Aug. 22.
United Piping Inc. was awarded contracts by BP for the following: 1.) above and below grade inspection of 6- and 12-in. pipelines in Fillmore Country, Minnesota. Headquarters is Morris, Illinois; and 2.) an integrity dig on a 12-in. pipeline in St. Joseph County, Michigan. Headquarters is Mottville, Michigan. The superintendent for both projects is Jim Bailer. Approximate start date: 1.) Aug. 21 and 2.) Aug. 22.
Appalachian Pipeline Contractors LLP was awarded a contract by PSNC to install approximately 7.7 miles of 8-in. pipeline in Iredell County, North Carolina. Headquarters is to be determined. The superintendent is Greg Greenwell. Approximate start date: Aug. 21.
Atlas Trenchless LLC was awarded a contract by Linde Corp. to install approximately 1,100 ft of 24-in. pipeline in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is on the jobsite. Approximate start date: Aug. 21.
Snelson Cos. Inc. was awarded contracts from Pacific Gas & Electric for 1.) to install approximately 80 ft of 12-in. pipeline, 80 ft of 6-in. pipeline and one 12-in. mainline valve, two 6-in. mainline valves and an automated valve station in Merced County, California, and (2) the removal and replacement of a station vault and ladder in Kern. County, California. Headquarters for both projects are to be determined. The superintendent for both projects is Norman Glenn. Approximate start date: Aug. 21 (for both).
Penn Line Services Inc. was awarded a contract by Michels Corp. for the removal and installation of a temporary guiderail in Blair, Huntingdon, Perry and Juniata counties, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is in Scottdale, Pennsylvania. The superintendent is Steve Newcome. Approximate start date: Aug. 14.
InterCon Construction Inc. was awarded a contract by J.F. Kiely Construction/New Jersey Gas to install approximately 1,600 ft of 16-in. pipeline via horizontal directional drilling in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Headquarters is on the jobsite. The superintendent is Dave Chesney. Approximate start date: Aug. 9.
Appalachian Pipeline Contractors LLP was awarded contracts by Piedmont Natural Gas for the following: 1.) the pullback and interconnect of various size piping in New Hanover and Brunswick counties, North Carolina; and 2.) to install approximately 12,000 ft of 8-in. pipeline, approximately 300 ft of 4-in. pipeline, four horizontal directional drills, mainline valve and regulator station modifications in Catawba County, North Carolina. Headquarters for both jobs is to be determined. The superintendent for both jobs is Anthony Campbell. Approximate start date: 1.) July 24 and 2.) Aug. 7.
InfraSource LLC was awarded a contract by Cascade Natural Gas Corp. for the pressure testing of approximately 3,520 ft of 2-in. pipeline and 2,927 ft of 4-in. pipeline in Walla Walla and Grant counties, Washington. Headquarters is to be determined. The superintendent is Kenneth Halle. Approximate start date: Aug. 7.
InfraSource LLC was awarded a contract by Avista to install approximately 17,000 ft of 6-in. pipeline in Union County, Oregon. Headquarters is La Grande, Oregon. Superintendent is Gunner Anderson. Approximate start date: Aug. 7.
Right-of-Way Clearing & Maintenance Inc. was awarded a contract by National Fuel/Otis Eastern Service Inc. for the clearing of approximately 6.62 miles of 24-in. pipeline right-of-way in Erie County, New York. Headquarters is Collins, New York. The superintendent is Jim Merenda. Approximate start date: Aug. 7.

Welded Construction LP has been. awarded a contract by DTE Energy to install approximately 2,530 ft of 30-in. pipeline, a launcher/receiver and three 30-in. pipeline valves in Oakland County, Michigan. Headquarters is Milford, Michigan. The superintendent is Philip Randall. Approximate start date: Aug. 7.
United Piping Inc. was awarded a contract by Enbridge for decommissioning work including pigging in Livingston County, Illinois. Headquarters is Pontiac, Michigan. The superintendent is Joel Bailer. Approximate start date: Aug. 3.
Minnesota Limited LLC was awarded a contract to install a 1” to 16-in. pipeline pump station in Monroe County, Michigan. Headquarters is Dover, Ohio. The superintendent. is Gary Hawk. Approximate start date: Aug. 2.
T.G. Mercer Consulting Services Inc. was awarded a contract by Enterprise Products for the offloading and racking of approximately 30 miles of 20-in. pipe in Eddy County, New Mexico. Headquarters is on the jobsite. The superintendent is Michael Magee. Approximate start date: Aug. 1.
Earth Pipeline Services Inc. was awarded a contract by Welded Construction LP. for the clearing of approximately 0.5 miles of 16-in. pipeline right-of-way in Washington County, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. The superintendent is Joshua Roberts. Approximate start date: July 28.
United Piping Inc. was awarded a contract by TransCanada for modifications at two stations consisting of pipelines sizes from 2- to 48 in. in Walla Walla County, Washington and Morrow County, Oregon. Headquarters is on the jobsites. The superintendent is Mark Thomson. Approximate start date: July 26.
InterCon Construction Inc. was awarded a contract by Henkels & McCoy Inc. to install approximately 4,050 ft of 30-in. pipeline via horizontal directional drilling in Kane County, Illinois. Headquarters is on the jobsite. The superintendent is Willard Worsham. Approximate start date: July 24.
Penn Line Service Inc. was awarded a contract by Price Gregory International Inc. for hydro-seeding on approximately 15 miles of 36-in. pipeline right of way in Susquehanna and Tioga counties, Pennsylvania. Headquarters is on the jobsites. The superintendent is Jim Pratt. Approximate start date: July 24.
