Michels Corporation has promoted a long-time industry and company veteran to lead its safety division. The company named Sean Nicholson to vice president of health, safety and environment (HSE), according to a May 30 company statement. He previously served as Michels’ director of HSE.
In his new role, Nicholson will use his 20 years of industry experience to execute a comprehensive and unified HSE program throughout Michels’ operations in the United States and Canada.
During his 10 years as director of HSE, Nicholson established programs to support Michels’ top-down commitment to a culture where the safety of people, property and the environment is the prime objective. He will expand the programs he and his team have developed to support pipeline construction operations, customer needs and governmental regulations across the company’s expansive utility and infrastructure construction operations.
Nicholson also will continue his efforts to improve the safety culture across the energy and construction industry. Among other industry associations, he is actively involved in the INGAA Foundation, an affiliate of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America, with a long history of developing best practices and presenting at conferences and meetings.
