Martin Fritz Named President, CEO of WBI Holdings
Martin A. Fritz has been named president and CEO of WBI Holdings Inc., MDU Resources Group Inc.’s pipeline and energy services business.
Fritz’s appointment is effective July 20, and he succeeds Steven L. Bietz, who will retire effective July 17 after a 34-year career with the company.
“Martin has extensive industry experience and a strong track record of business growth. We are confident that he will be able to lead our strong team to accelerate WBI Holdings’ growth and transformation into a larger midstream business,” said Dave Goodin, president and CEO of MDU Resources.
Goodin noted that Fritz built an impressive record of accomplishments during a 15-year career at EQT Corp. He held a number of executive positions with both operational and functional responsibilities, including president of EQT Midstream Operations. He was the first leader of EQT’s midstream business unit and executed on a successful growth strategy in the prolific Marcellus natural gas play.
Fritz has a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from the University of Pittsburgh and a law degree from the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University. His legal experience includes merger and acquisition, corporate and securities law. He began his career with Ernst & Young and is a certified public accountant. He also is a graduate of the University of Idaho’s Graduate Utility Executive Institute.
Fritz and his family are in the process of relocating to Bismarck, North Dakota.
