J.P. Morgan has named Mike Lister head of its Corporate Client Banking Energy Group, serving large energy companies with capital market needs across the United States and Canada.

Based in Dallas, Lister will directly manage an established team of corporate bankers who provide traditional banking services and investment banking products to large exploration and production (E&P), midstream and energy service companies. He will also oversee all energy relationships across the firm’s Commercial Banking business.

“Mike’s leadership experience, background in energy and home base of Texas — where many of our energy clients and bankers are located — make him a natural choice for this role,” said Doug Petno, CEO of Commercial Banking at JPMorgan Chase. “I am confident that he will continue to build on the success of our world-class energy franchise and expand our capabilities to meet the needs of companies across the industry.”

A 23-year banking veteran, Lister began his career with the firm’s energy practice in Houston before moving into a number of corporate and investment banking roles in the Southwest. In addition to his new role, he will continue to lead the firm’s Corporate Client Banking business in the Southwest, serving a diversified client base of public companies with over $500 million in annual sales.
