IHS Launches Updated AccuMap Platform for Canadian Oil and Gas Industry
Canadian oil and gas companies now have a sharper instrument in their information toolbox.
IHS Inc., the leading global source of information and analysis, has released the next generation of its AccuMap, a powerful interpretation solution platform for the Canadian oil and gas industry, which features a more flexible, easy to use interface and more powerful navigation capabilities than its predecessor. Powered by high-quality IHS information, IHS AccuMap allows customers to easily view multiple datasets to assess an opportunity faster than ever before.
“Since AccuMap has long been a trusted and vital partner in the Canadian oil and gas industry, it was essential that the next generation of this popular interpretation solution be highly flexible and reflect the evolving needs and individual workflows of the Canadian oil and gas industry,” said Russ Sagert, vice president of IHS Canada. “With that in mind, we sought feedback from members of industry across disciplines, including the AccuMap special interest group, to guide our direction throughout the development. We also hosted intensive, customer-experience sessions and allowed for a comprehensive beta-test period from a wide sample of customers. As a result, with this new release, we have delivered a solution that can be tailored to complement our customers’ workflows, so for the first time, for example, IHS AccuMap customers are now able to customize their contours to clearly visualize their areas of interest.”
The new IHS AccuMap features enhanced, customizable navigation through mouse-driven zoom and pan, and it includes the addition of the Microsoft Ribbon for intuitive access to tools and the ability to specify favorite views. The combination of the new easy-to-use interface with the best quality data from IHS enables users to generate accurate, presentation-quality maps, which are essential to making the right decisions faster.
The base data package for IHS AccuMap provides core information including general culture data (survey grid, roads, rivers and towns), well status and locations (bottom-hole and surface-hole), along with well license information and basic production information. Additional packages can be added, including AltaLIS 1:20,000 culture, core analyses, directional surveys, drill-stem tests, fluid analyses, gas analyses and pressure data, geology, land data, pipelines and facilities information, production information, transportation and infrastructure data, Valtus Ortho photos and well spacing information.
