Fortis Energy Services Launches Fortis4Vets
Bloomfield Hills, Michigan-based Fortis Energy Services launched its Fortis4Vets hiring program at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Harrison Township, Michigan.
The announcement was made in conjunction with the Sept. 5 employer Day hosted by the Michigan committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), which allowed ESGR members to interact with the employers and provide information on ESGR programs and to encourage employer support for those serving in the National Guard and Reserve.
“At Fortis, we are very interested in working with ESGR to find qualified candidates for potential hire. There are many reasons to turn to US Veterans when seeking employees,” said. Meghan Berg, HR director of Fortis Energy Services. “We regard the training they received during military service as an asset. Members of the Guard and Reserve make excellent employees due to their disciplined and rigorous training.”
“Fortis Energy Services is fully supportive of all efforts to hire veterans. We are very proud to have our Human Resource Department working directly with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve to source candidates for potential hire,” said Nathan Conway, Fortis Energy Services CEO, reinforcing the company’s commitment to hiring veterans. “We respect the training that military personnel receive and recognize it as a benefit in our industry. This is especially true in the area of safety. Fortis is an American company and supporting our veterans is just the right thing to do.”
ESGR is a Department of Defense agency that seeks to promote a culture in which all employers support and value the military service of their employees. ESGR recognizes outstanding support and encourages employers to hire guard members and reservists.
