Fortis Energy Services Expands to Rocky Mountain Region of North Dakota

Fortis Energy Services Inc. announced Dec. 9 that it has expanded its area of operations to include the Williston Basin of North Dakota.  Fortis, a recognized leader in the Michigan basin, as well as the Utica and Marcellus shale plays, will be providing the same well services to oil and gas producers in North Dakota including well completions, workovers, down-hole repairs, maintenance and plugging and abandonment.fortis_esi_logo_web1

“We are proud that our culture of customer service and safety has opened this opportunity to expand our operations into the Williston basin of North Dakota,” said CEO Nathan Conway, a native of Westhope, N.D. “I grew up in the North Dakota oil fields working in both oilfield service as well as exploration and production.  As a third generation oilman in the N.D. oil and gas industry, it is great to be back home working with many of the same people I worked with years ago.”

Headquartered in Michigan, Fortis has operations throughout the Midwest and Northeastern states including: Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, New York, Indiana, Illinois and now North Dakota.  An aggressive growth plan includes expansion targets in other major shale plays across the US, including the Eagle Ford, Permian and Niobrara shale plays.

“Our fleet includes 200 to 500 series service rigs that are consistently upgraded and operated by highly experienced professionals.  Two 500 series rigs have already been added to the Utica and Bakken operations,” said Conway.  In addition, we are in the process of upgrading and adding additional 500 series rigs to our operations in the first quarter of 2014.

Fortis established a strong reputation for working under extreme well pressures in the Marcellus/Utica plays without incidence.  Safety is the No. 1 priority with Fortis.

“Given Fortis’ recent successes in the Northeast region, I welcome the opportunity to better serve our current customers in multiple regions, plus I look forward to the challenge of introducing new customers and partners to our extreme focus on service and safety,” said Edward Shelton, vice president of business development.

“Our seasoned crews and well maintained equipment result in a high degree of efficiency in all of our services.” Conway said.   “The Fortis Team finishes the work in 15 to 20 percent less time than our competitors while maintaining a safe operation for both us and our clients.”
