Flow-Cal Releases Streamlined Tool for Integrating Measurement Data
Houston-based software developer Flow-Cal Inc. has launched a new tool for measurement data management for the natural gas and petroleum liquids market. The company released a new and streamlined solution for integrating the measurement needs of office and field personnel with Flow-Cal’s TESTit and Enterprise applications.
TESTit stand-alone version 3.0 was officially launched last year offering an improved user interface and the integration of Flow-Cal’s field product line, TESTit, PROVEit and PYCit, into one powerful gas and liquids field application. Following this major release, Flow-Cal began focusing on the design of a new integrated solution between TESTit and Flow-Cal’s flagship product, FLOWCAL Enterprise.
With integration already available between FLOWCAL and TESTit’s prior version 2, Flow-Cal’s product management team identified a new, scalable approach for the integrated TESTit 3 and its future releases. The latest solution was officially launched last month after an extensive beta program with participants from Flow-Cal’s user community.
“We’ve taken a new approach to our development strategy for integrating FLOWCAL and TESTit 3,” says Flower Pledger, Flow-Cal’s director of product management. “This new, streamlined solution will be more scalable for our clients and easier to maintain as their needs evolve.”
When test data is entered into TESTit’s stand-alone version, flow-error due to calibration is automatically calculated, an electronic test report is created, and files are saved for reporting, scheduling, archiving, and exporting. When integrated with FLOWCAL, this data is then sent to the office and stored in TESTit’s server application, which automatically updates FLOWCAL Enterprise with current test report information. FLOWCAL Enterprise automatically identifies inconsistencies in the calculation and equipment variables, as well as excessive calibration discrepancies, to facilitate volume recalculation requirements.
Flow-Cal’s software is used throughout the industry to validate, recalculate, store and report measurement data from field devices, and link that information to users and stakeholders throughout an organization. Flow-Cal’s full line of measurement software applications range from simple, inexpensive data management and reporting programs (designed for smaller companies) to enterprise-wide applications that are utilized by Fortune 500 companies.
