Drilling Services of America’s new Mobile Service Unit

Drilling Services of America (DSA), the complete through-tubing specialist, announced that it now offers customers a state-of-the-art Mobile Service Unit (MSU), allowing it to expand its land-based through-tubing and cased-hole milling and “fishing” services.

The MSU is an innovative, self-sustained truck and trailer unit, complete with a workshop and employee living quarters. It is used to assemble, maintain and inventory tools and equipment for land-based through-tubing jobs. The MSU is equipped with a shop table, torque machine, overhead crane and customized racks to store DSA specialty mills, DSA motors and a wide range of related bottom-hole tools and redress kits.

“The MSU allows DSA to be more efficient, provide a wider array of tools onsite and mitigate downtime caused by unexpected events.” said Jaret Garber, business development, DSA.

The trailer is powered primarily by plugging into a land-based power source with typical 30-amp RV hookups. However, for remote locations, the MSU can sustain itself by means of either an on-board diesel generator or an intrinsic solar panel and battery system.

Established in 1986, Drilling Services of America is an independent company based in Carencro, La., and serves major, independent oil and gas companies.
