Deloitte Names New Director of Oil and Gas Investment

Deloitte Corporate Finance LLC has named a new managing director for its Houston office. Thomas W. Sloop recently joined the company and will lead the development of the its oil and gas investment banking practice in connection with his new role.

Sloop will be responsible for the origination of financial advisory services for oil and gas clients in the United States and will assist member firms serving clients globally providing C-Suite, board and operational level strategic advisory, commercial development, transaction leadership and deal facilitation support across the sector.

As a 25-year veteran of the business, Sloop is a seasoned development professional, consultant and investment banker. He has extensive international experience and completed in the course of his career over $40 billion in energy and energy-related financings representing clients in project finance, capital markets transactions, IPOs, strategic advisory and cross border mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Prior to joining Deloitte, Sloop led the midstream M&A advisory practice for Pace Global Energy, a Siemens Corp. business. Before that, he ran his own advisory and principal investment firm focused on international energy development. Sloop began his investment banking career with Morgan Stanley & Co. and later held senior investment banking positions with Barclays Capital and UBS Securities. He has a bachelor’s in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
