Participants with previous knowledge of horizontal directional drilling (HDD) will be provided and in-depth examination of the key elements of design that must be considered for HDD projects. The specifics of design, implementation and risk will be examined in detail, allowing participants to expand their knowledge and understanding of the entire HDD process.
The workshop – held at the University of Alberta Faculty of Extension, 10230 Jasper Ave., in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada – will cover a variety of topics related to HDD and is beneficial to those individuals who have previous experience with HDD.
Topis covered will include: engineering design principles for HDD projects, drill path design, pipe stress analysis, maximum allowable pressure, minimum borehole pressure, geotechnical input parameters, overbend design and design tools. Speakers at the workshop are experts in the field.
